Status & Limits

The Custom Statuses and Limits feature allows you to define participant roles (statuses) for events and set capacity limits for each role. This is particularly useful for managing team composition or resource allocation in events like gaming raids, workshops, or meetings.

Key Features

Custom Status Creation

  • Add new statuses tailored to your event requirements.

Participant Limit Management

  • Set numerical limits for each status to control event participation.

Event-Specific Configuration

  • Customize statuses and limits per event type based on connection. i.e each connection can have 1 customize status, and for each event type you can create new connection that use the same announcement channel (if needed).

Ease of Use

  • Intuitive interface to create, update, or remove statuses and their limits.

How to Configure

1. Select Event Type

  • Use the dropdown under Select Event Type to choose the event you want to configure.
    Example: "World of Warcraft (WoW)."

2. Add a New Status

  • Click the + Add New Status button.
  • Enter the name of the status (e.g., Tank, DPS, Healer).
  • Assign a limit by entering a number in the adjacent field.
Example: Set "Tank" to a limit of 10 participants.

3. Edit or Remove Existing Statuses

  • Edit Limit: Update the number in the input box for an existing status.
  • Remove Status: Click the red Remove button next to the status to delete it.

4. Save Limits

  • Once you’ve configured all statuses and their limits, click the Save Limits button to apply the changes.

Example Use Case

  1. Scenario: A World of Warcraft (WoW) raid needs team composition.
  2. Configuration:
  • Tank: Limit set to 5.
  • DPS: Limit set to 20.
  • Healer: Limit set to 10.
  1. Outcome: Event registrations will automatically enforce these limits, ensuring a balanced team.

Tips and Best Practices

  • Tailor Limits to Event Needs: Define realistic limits based on the requirements of the event type.
  • Regularly Review Limits: Periodically update limits to reflect changes in event participation patterns.
  • Use Descriptive Status Names: Choose status names that clearly indicate their purpose (e.g., "Beginner," "Expert," or "Observer").

Troubleshooting

  • Limits Not Saving: Ensure you click Save Limits after making changes.
  • Participants Exceed Limits: Check if the limit has been correctly configured and saved.
  • Unavailable Status: Verify that the status is added to the correct event type.
