Announcement channel

The Announcement Channel is a dedicated communication channel used for broadcasting event updates to your community or audience. This type of channel is used for information that everyone in the community needs to see and be notified about, such as information about upcoming events or activities.

  • Typically set to only allow certain users (like admins or moderators) to post messages to avoid spam.
  • May have notifications enabled by default to ensure everyone stays informed.
  • Useful for keeping your community up-to-date without cluttering other chat channels with high-priority messages.

Events list channel

The Events List Channel serves as a central hub where all upcoming events are listed, allowing community members to view, RSVP, or express interest in attending. This channel provides a dynamic list of all events.

If you don't want to post events list in a events list channel you can disable this from the advance settings tabs by toggling off Schedule pings option.

Default voice channel

The Default Voice Channel for Events is a predefined voice channel that community members automatically join when they participate in a scheduled event, making it easier for everyone to gather and communicate during live activities.

Characteristics:

  • The channel is usually created for specific events or recurring activities, ensuring that everyone who joins the event has a place to communicate in real time.
  • Can be linked to event reminders so that when an event begins, users are encouraged to join this channel.
  • This voice channel can be configured to support specific event needs, like providing a quiet space for focus during workshops or enabling group discussions during casual hangouts.
  • Moderators or hosts can have control over who speaks, muting participants when necessary to maintain order.
